Mark Lester made his last major film as an 18-year-old. He had always thought of him self as a child actor, and as he grew up, he decided to give up his film career. Instead he became an osteopath, and he now has his own clinic. Visit it at www.carltonclinic.co.uk. He has four children, three girls (one named Olivia) and one son. He is a karate black belt. Check out Mark's new film project (!) at rewind.
Jack Wild got so popular in the United States after his Oscar-nomination he decided to stay. After playing the lead in the children's series H.R. Pufnstuf and a couple of youth oriented films, his film career abruptly ended. In the following years he struggled with alcoholism and a divorce, but finally got his life back in order. He lives in London with his wife and he's working on his biography. Visit Jack at his new official homepage.
Oliver Reed is the only one of the five leads that has stayed famous throughout the years. He also experienced personal difficulties, as his star status slowly faded in the late 70's. In 1987 he made a film called Castaway, which is considered one of his (very) few good ones in a decade when he starred in over 20 movies. Not until year 2000 did he get what could have been a come back with Ridley Scott's Gladiator (picture), hadn't it been for the fact that he died filming it. The film script had to be changed and a body double was used in some scenes to make the story work.
Ron Moody turned down several offers from Hollywood after the success of Oliver! at the Oscars. He has continued to appear on stage an occasionally on screen. This picture is from the 1999 film Paradise Grove.
David Crump added this information:
"Ron Moody is still working as a successful actor. He is currently touring in a production of Neil Simon's the Sunshine Boys with Brian Murphy (a famous English comedy actor who starred in a sit-com called George and Mildred). Moody plays the part made famous by Walter Mathau."
